Chicago/Turabian Format Style Guide: Home
Welcome!
Welcome to the Chicago/Turabian Style Guide! Using this guide will help you learn to format a paper and create proper citations using the Chicago/Turabian style.
NOTE: Except for a few minor differences, Turabian style is the same as the Chicago Manual of Style (CMS). The main difference is that the Chicago Manual of Style was written to provide guidelines on publishing in general, and Turabian provides guidelines for student papers, theses, and dissertations.
Departments
The Chicago/Turabian Style is used for:
- Senior Capstone Research Project
- Church Ministries Department Graduate Courses
Always confirm with your professors concerning which style they would prefer you to use for your work.
Chicago/Turabian Style Guides Online
- Find it. Write it. Cite it. The Chicago Manual of Style Online is the time-tested guide to style, usage, and grammar in an online format.
IMPORTANT NOTE
It is important to note that while citation generators do in fact exist, they are not the best way to generate a citation for your paper. It is much better to learn to write your own citations, particularly if you want to be able to go on to write professionally in your future careers. If you need assistance with your citations, please feel free to contact the librarian at research@valleyforge.edu. You can also go to the Write Solution to have your paper proofread and citations checked. Do not wait to do this until the last minute before your paper is due! Plan to have everything checked a few days in advance to allow time for corrections as needed!
